HERPSCAPES
Skin & Scales Rescue & Adoption has been developed to help curb the problem with unwanted herp pets. We are willing to take unwanted Reptiles, Amphibians and Invertebrates and also appreciate any tanks or cage decor you are willing to part with in an effort to help us maintain proper conditions for intakes. In the event that we are unable to house intakes for the benefit of display or presentation, we may offer your unwanted herps out to adoptive homes. We do not charge an adoption fee like other Rescue's out there. We just want to find good homes for these unwanted pets.

If you are interested in adopting a herp pet, they will be listed here on this page as "available." Adoptees will be called and asked a series of questions in order to assure the adopted pet will be going to an appropriate home with proper conditions and knowledge to keep said animal. Pets will not be adopted out to businessess for the purpose of resale. Your name will be run through our data base and through various dealers lists to assure your intentions are just.
* In the event that we will have to deliver your new pet, a travel fee will be set in place.
Please contact us via this website.

Available Herps:
Red Eared Sliders: As of right now, the Red Eared Slider is probably the most commonly available species of Reptile available anywhere for adoption. It's terrible that these animals are still available to purchase to the general public. They are affordable and easily acquired, making the problem wide spread. These are demanding turtles, they require full spectrum lighting, lots of space to swim and have a ravenous appetite. They will rapidly grow to about the size of a dinner plate (females being larger than males). Please be responsible and ADOPT a Red Eared Slider, do not purchase one.
We currently have ~ males and females available from 4 inches to adult.
Boa constrictor: We have a juvenile Boa Constrictor available, he is approximately 12 inches and is aggressive. The aggression is not unusual for small Boas and can change with handling. He is healthy and feeding on adult mice.
